Michael deLongpre is a finance geek with a science background, an aspiring programmer, and an occasional writer. After graduating from Aquinas College
with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, Michael worked in an inpatient pharmacy at Metro Health Hospital. This operational experience helped form a business curiousity, so he then attended the Eli Broad School of Management at Michigan State University. While at MSU, Michael interned with OnStar Finance and worked with their Marketing team to build a subscriber profitability model to guide customer service and engagement. After two years with MSU's MBA program and with a degree in Finance in-hand, he moved West to San Francisco in search of creative companies making a large impact.
Once in the Bay Area, he began working for Aurora Algae -- a clean-tech startup -- as a financial analyst helping to develop business and technical models with the engineering and biology teams. Aurora intends to develop marine algae as a renewable fuel and a nutritional platform, for animal and human benefit.
This brings us to the present.
In between meals at amazing restaurants, drinks at dive bars, or weekends in Tahoe or Napa, Michael is either hacking on little hardware projects or trying to make a dent in his ever-increasing reading list or in his ever-expanding Netflix queue.
